WVO assisted a Gold Star mother with having trees removed from property. The assisting members and Curtis Tree Service (828-361-3511) removed trees (aka: widow makers) that posed a threat to falling on the Gold Star mother's home. Mother's son had served in the United States Marine Corps.

WVO Director; Mark Ware, Hoke Henson (Age 99, 2nd oldest WWII Veteran in Cherokee County North Carolina), and Richard Millett; Cherokee County Veteran Service Officer.

The Veteran Service Office notified WVO of a need for an electric scooter for a hero in our community. We are proud to say we were able to fulfill that need.

Our collaborative efforts over the years with our local Veteran Service Officers have enabled us to meet the mission of assisting Veterans in the community. We are blessed to have Veterans in those positions who go above and beyond to assist in every way they can.

We hope Mr. Henson enjoys his new wheels!
